in Lake Geneva

july-contest-winnerHappy mid-summer!!

I am pleased to announce that our July winner for a free night at Lazy Cloud is Jacqueline Kearns! Congratulations!!

There’s so much going on here in the Lake Country that it will relax your socks off!! Each summer Lake Geneva features a five day Venetian Festival, complete with carnival, craft fair, water ski show, musical entertainment, and lots of good food. But the main event is the festival’s lighted boat parade followed by beautiful fireworks over the lake. It’s something you shouldn’t miss! This year the event starts on August 17th.

If outdoors is your thing, on Saturdays you can enjoy beautiful “Music by the Lake” at George Williams College, or on Thursdays “Concerts in the Park”. Another spectacular event is the Walworth County Fair (my personal favorite) – there’s always something for everyone at the fair!!! You find it in Elkhorn from August 31 through September 5th.  “Art in the Park” continues its 31st annual show this month on August 13th and 14th.

Our Farmer’s Markets are flourishing! You’ll find fresh produce all over the county. There’s also Summer Dinner Theatre: Paragon Springs, the first three weekends of August.

The Centennial Celebration is held in Horticultural Hall from July 31st through August 7th. During this week there will be festivities and activities to celebrate the glories of the bygone era.

And, for the first time ever, you can catch a trolley to Black Point Estate on August 8th. Usually you can only access this historical treat by boat. And, speaking of boat rides…don’t forget the great boat tours, luncheon cruises, and even the wave runners!!

You know where all this fresh air is going to lead you!! Right back to the Lazy Cloud, I hope… We’ll be ready for you with a bottle of refreshing wine or champagne, a delicious caramel apple pie or chocolate dipped strawberries, and comfy robes to lounge in! We’ll even have you all set with supply of bubbles for your whirlpool. Come enjoy our grounds which are at the height of summer color. There’s double hammocks, yard games, romantic gazebos, waterfalls, the gardens …so many beautiful things that nature has to offer!!

I’m be looking forward to hearing from you soon! And, don’t forget to register again for the August drawing!
